"Someone other than the criminal has information
that can solve a crime."

CRIME STOPPERS was created to combat the three major problems faced by Law Enforcement in generating that information.

  1. Fear of REPRISAL
  2. Reluctance to get INVOLVED
  3. An attitude of APATHY

CRIME STOPPERS resolves these problems by:

  1. Offering anonymity to people, who provide information about crimes.
  2. Paying rewards when the information supplied leads to a Felony arrest or Felony warrant issued.

Your information can help solve a crime. It could be something you've seen, heard, or found. It may be a name, a physical description, or a license number. CRIME STOPPERS is truly a community undertaking, with the flow of information between the public, and the police, vital to its success. You can pass along details of local criminal activity without ever revealing your identity. And in doing so contribute towards a safer living environment.

A report or reenactment of the crime is portrayed using community media resources; television, radio, and news print. Persons with information on the crime reported or any other felony crimes are urged to call Crime Stoppers. These tipsters will be asked pertinent questions about the crime they are reporting and a code number will be assigned to the tip. Callers are instructed to call back frequently to find out if their information has earned a reward.

While the investigative part of Crime Stoppers is undertaken by law enforcement agencies, the responsibility of establishing policy, for raising rewards funds, and for determining the amount of reward funds, and for determining the amount of reward payment rests with the Crime Stoppers Board of Directors, made up of citizens from the community.

The Community - Citizens are involved. Crimes are solved. Stolen Property is recovered. Narcotics are confiscated. Criminals are placed behind bars.
